A great day was had by all who came along to the official opening event of the new Todmorden Wheels Park in Centre Vale Park on Sunday 29th August.
There was a packed programme of activities for Skateboarders, Scooter users and BMX bikers of all ages and abilities, including lessons and Jam sessions.
The creation and completion of this fantastic new facility has been a long time in the making. However, when the opportunity arose last year to bid for funding (including some of the Towns Fund Accelerator Funding) this then allowed the project to move from the drawing board to reality at a great pace.
The fact that it’s done so owes much to the collaboration of Todmorden Town Council, Todmorden Town Deal Board and Calderdale Council working together.
The opening event was also a fantastic opportunity for the Town Deal Board’s initiated Youth Engagement Team, “The Collective” to introduce themselves to the community – and more importantly to engage with the younger people in our town whose voices we want to hear.
